The Rapides Parish Library introduces access to free language courses through your local library. Can’t spend the summer in a tropical locale? That’s okay! You can learn a new language and enjoy adventures around home through your Rapides Parish Library. The State Library of Louisiana is now offering a new online language learning platform for all public libraries, including the Rapides Parish Library. Mango Languages is available through the Louisiana Library Connection which is linked at www.rpl.org under the E-branch then Databases tabs.
Mango Languages provides more than seventy languages and over twenty English courses designed from the perspective of the learner’s native language. It offers a rich, immersive experience that includes intuitive language and culture lessons designed by linguists and voiced by native speakers. Phrases and words are taught in a fun and practical way patterned after the way many individuals learn their native languages. This is another free and valuable resource RPL is proud to be able to offer the CenLA community.
The best part is that Mango Languages is accessible in the library and at home when using a computer by visiting www.rpl.org, then following the Louisiana Library Connection link (https://lalibcon.state.lib.la.us/). You can also download the Mango apps for iOS and Android phones and tablets then input your Rapides Parish Library card information for access.
